Why do you have a doctor review your scans?
There are multiple reasons for this, but the most important is our desire to provide the safest and most medically significant experience in the industry. Even the most experienced and knowledgeable technicians are not legally permitted to diagnose medical conditions, we rely on our doctors for that purpose. This gives our referring providers a great degree of comfort with our services as they know if something unusual is found they will be notified so the patient and baby can receive additional care as necessary.

What is a Limited Medical Fetal Study?
A limited medical fetal study includes basic information about the baby, including the verification of heartbeat, assessment of the baby's position and, if desired, gender determination. If there is more than one baby present, we verify the number and determine the above information for each baby. In addition, our doctors will also review images of the baby’s face, spine, profile, fluid levels and placenta.

Is ultrasound safe?
Ultrasound has been used for over 35 years and has been proven through countless studies to be a non-invasive tool with vast benefits. We strictly adhere to the standard set by the FDA which "restricts ultrasound exposure to levels that produce few, if any, effects on the fetus, based on epidemiological evidence" (FDA Consumer magazine, January-February 2004 Issue). Our Three- and Four-Dimensional ultrasound imaging uses ultrasound energy subject to these same limits and is not a product of increased frequency or "power" levels, but a combination of increased data gathering (listening) by the transducer and software interpretation after data acquisition. The result is a vast array of benefits without any harm to mother or baby.

Will my pictures look like the ones on your website?
Unlike many in the industry, every photo on our website was taken at our facility and by our technicians, so you can see what is possible with our technology and expertise. However, picture quality depends on several factors; the amount of maternal tissue, the amniotic fluid levels, and the position of the baby are all important. In order to get the best result, you must follow your doctor’s recommendations and drink plenty of water.

Do you Have a Late Policy?
You have two options if you miss or arrive 15 or more minutes late for a scheduled appointment. The ability to fit you into the schedule depends on several factors, such as other customers needing to show up, showing up late, and opening slots later in the day. The later in the day your scheduled appointment is, the less likely it is that we will be able to get you in. Please arrive 10 minutes early for your scheduled appointment. This ensures that every customer receives equal and fair treatment under this policy.
Option 1. You may come to our office and check-in. We will have you complete the paperwork and will attempt to see you the same day; however, we cannot guarantee we will be able to. Your wait may be anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours or worse, we may still have to reschedule you for another day. In that case, you would need to pre-pay for that day when the appointment is made.
Option 2. You can pre-pay now, and we can reschedule for a different date and time. There is only a late fee that you will incur if you do not show up to the second appointment on time or if you cancel the next appointment in less than 24 hours. In this case, you forfeit the full balance on file. At that point, you would need to pre-pay for your next appointment to schedule another appointment. If, for any reason, you do not show or cancel that appointment in less than 24 hours a third time, you forfeit the entire balance on file and will not be seen in our office. It's like baseball: three strikes, and you're out! All puns aside, our time and yours is very precious, and we thank you for respecting ours as we will do our best to respect yours.
